כרמית יעקבסון גרה בברקלי. בנוסף לעיסוקה באמנות, היא גם קלינאית תקשורת, שעבודתה עם שפה ותקשורת מלווה את העשייה האמנותית שלה. לאחר שחיה בישראל, בספרד וכיום בקליפורניה, שאלות של שייכות, שפה, טבע והאופן שבו אנחנו יוצרים קשר למקום נמצאות במרכז עבודתה.

פרויקט נוסף של כרמית, הכולל חמישים עבודות טקסטיל בוטניות, יוצג בתערוכת ה־50|50 השנתית ב-Sanchez Art Center בפסיפיקה במהלך ספטמבר ואוקטובר 2026.
Karmit Jacobson
lives in Berkeley. In addition to being an artist, she is a speech-language therapist. Her work with language and communication informs her art. Having lived in Israel, Spain, and now California, questions of belonging, language, nature, and the ways we connect to place are central to her work. She works with textiles- embroidery, sewing, and weaving, alongside botanical materials and drawing.
Her recent series Home by Nature, a body of 50 botanical textile works, will be on view at Sanchez Art Center's annual 50|50 show in Pacifica in September.
