50|50 SAC art show

The annual 50|50 Show at Sanchez Art Center challenges selected artists to create 50 small works in 50 days—one piece each day, within a chosen theme and medium. The completed bodies of work are then presented together, allowing viewers to experience not only individual pieces but also the development of an idea through repetition, persistence, and experimentation.

My 2026 series, Home by Nature, explores how an unfamiliar landscape gradually begins to feel like home. Using pressed wildflowers, leaves, vintage textiles, lace, and delicate hand stitching, I created 50 small works inspired by the plants I notice during everyday walks. These modest natural details become small anchors of familiarity and belonging, while the old fabrics carry traces of lives lived before reaching me.
